Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology (ACCET) is an autonomous engineering college established in 1952, located in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated to Anna University and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. ACCET offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and technology, as well as a number of research programs.

The college has a rich history and tradition of excellence in engineering education. The college was initially established as Alagappa College of Technology (ACT) by the Alagappa Chettiar Educational Trust (ACET). The trust was founded by the philanthropist Sir Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar with the aim of providing quality technical education to students from all sections of society.

The college has grown significantly since its inception, with over 5000 students from across India enrolled in various courses offered by ACCET. The campus consists of several blocks including administration, academic departments, research centers, hostels and student services centers. The college also has a library with more than 1 lakh books covering topics related to engineering and technology.

ACCET offers undergraduate courses like BTech in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering; postgraduate programmes like MTech in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering; MCA; MBA; MSc (Mathematics); MS (Computer Applications); ME/MPhil/PhD programmes are also offered at ACCET.

The college provides excellent infrastructural facilities such as well-equipped laboratories for students to carry out experiments related to their course work; modern classrooms equipped with LCD projectors; Wi-Fi enabled campus for students as well as faculty members; seminar halls for workshops and conferences; an auditorium for cultural activities etc., In addition to these facilities there are also sports grounds for outdoor activities like cricket, football etc., A cafeteria is located within the premises providing refreshments at reasonable rates.

Apart from academics there are various student clubs that provide a platform for extracurricular activities such as photography club, robotics club etc., which help develop their skills beyond academics. There are also industrial visits organized by the institute which helps students gain practical knowledge about their field of interest and get an insight into working conditions at industries.

ACCET also provides placement assistance through its Training & Placement Cell which organizes various activities throughout the year such as mock interviews, group discussions etc., to prepare them for placements upon completion of their coursework.
