What is Handicraft?

Handicrafts are all the product that is made through traditional or manual techniques, without involving an industrial process. It also refers to everything that indicates craft, craft process and craft tradition.

Now, people who work in the craft trade are known as artisans, who are those who, for pleasure and passion to traditional methods, carry out the development of various products (gastronomic, utilitarian or decorative) through manual, individual processes and with the help of simple tools, in small rooms or workshops.

Therefore, the result is a unique handmade product, called handicraft, because it exposes the thorough, indigenous and special work that each product receives throughout its elaboration.

All that elaboration or product that indicates that it is of artisan origin denotes a special meaning because it represents a sample and enhances the cultural expression of a country, region or town, whether gastronomic, of clothing or accessories, artistic, among others.

Craft process

The craft process is one of the oldest production models created by man. It is characterized by being a manual elaboration that relies on the use of raw materials typical of the area (in many cases they are sustainable resources), basic tools and for being carried out by one or more people.

Hence, the production of products is slower than in an industrialized or mass process, and gives that characteristic that each final product has a unique result.

On the other hand, the skills required to make an artisanal product are transmitted from one generation to another in order to maintain and strengthen cultural traditions.

Handmade product

Handicrafts are considered all those objects made by craftsmen using traditional techniques for typical development of different products that are specific to a country or region, in smaller quantities than those of industrial production.

Craft products differ according to their type and origin, which can be aboriginal, folkloric, urban and luxury, they can be products such as food or goldsmithing, jewelry, basketwork, leather, clothing, pottery, painting, sculptures, carpentry, textiles, among others.

Craft beer

The list of gastronomic artisan products is wide and varied in each country or region. These include sweet and savory products that are characterized by their manufacturing process, raw material used, quality, flavor and presentation.

For several years, craft beer is a product that has been positioned in the market and has gained followers and experts in the area. Especially, because it is a product that stands out for its limited elaboration, flavors and fermentation techniques.

With the rise and growth in terms of variety and producers of these beers, the term microbrewery originated, which also refers to the process of making craft beers but, whose production is a little higher than that of a small brewery.

On the other hand, these microbreweries have gained space in the market for being quite competitive in terms of quality and flavor, and because they have used different positioning methods to reach the consuming public.

Mexican handicraft

Mexican handicraft is the production of objects representative of the culture and tradition of Mexico. Among the best known crafts are textiles, murals, vessels and ceramics, which highlight the colors and the various materials used to make each of these objects.

All these crafts reproduce and expose part of the national identity of the Mexican people, in which the influences of indigenous and European cultures are also made known.
